Governance & accountability
Members are in control.
General Meeting and Delegates Assembly
The supreme authority. Once membership exceeds 5,000, members elect delegates (about one per 1,000 members) with reserved seats for women, youth, persons with disabilities and the diaspora.
Board of Directors
Nine elected directors and up to two co-opted experts without votes. Three-year terms, renewable once, one-third retiring by rotation; at least one-third women.
Supervisory Committee
Three members elected independently of the Board to monitor compliance, review the books, receive complaints and report directly to the Delegates Assembly.
Professional management
A Chief Executive Officer and directors recruited competitively. Elected leaders set policy; professional staff appraise and disburse loans.
